Stitch Fix Feature!

By: Nicole Mikluscak

I have been hearing about Stitch Fix for YEARS. I had never taken the leap, until I was given a gift card for Mother’s Day this year! It was such a clever idea and gave me no excuse not to do something fun for myself.

Stich Fix matches you with a personal stylist who hand selects clothing and accessories just for you, based on your size, style and budget. It makes you feel like a bit of a celebrity when you receive your delivery! I love that it isn’t a subscription service. You can order a box on demand or set up automatic deliveries on your OWN set timeline. You can pick!! Perfect for refreshing your wardrobe for the current season, or grabbing some fun things you wouldn’t normally choose for day to day.

You begin by taking personal style quizzes, telling the company about your fit, preferences and budget. Then you get matched with a stylist (remember, you’re a celebrity now) who picks items for you to try on at home. You buy what you like, pay on the SUPER SIMPLE app, and send back the rest in the FREE return envelope. You are not charged upfront, and you get to share feedback with your stylist about your likes and dislikes. This is a WIN WIN situation! NO fitting rooms with bad lighting, no dragging your kids to the mall. I’m hooked.

My stylist nailed it this month. I was so pleased with my items that I kept all five! I received a perfect variety. A fun dress, a casual white t-shirt and jean short combo, a trendy off the shoulder top, and a crossbody purse that I haven’t been able to let go of. I should also mention that your small shipping charge is put toward any items you purchase, and you get discounts should you choose to keep three or more of the pieces. If for some reason you feel your stylist just isn’t getting it right, you can ask to be paired with someone different. Stitch Fix will do the firing for you! Ha! 🙂

Stitch Fix has some items that are exclusive only to them! So it’s fun knowing you won’t show up to a party wearing the same thing as everyone else, but hard when you want to share favorites with a friend! We’ve done our best to link my items, or find you some similar options! Be sure to visit our SHOP page, or click on the widget below!

This is NOT sponsored – Give Stich Fix a try! Treat yourself or someone you know to feeling a little famous for a day. 😉

Weekend Recap from Omaha!

By: Nicole Mikluscak

Happy Monday from Omaha! I’m hoping everyone had a wonderful Mother’s Day weekend! Spring here has been rainy and cold, and we are so thankful we finally got to enjoy some sunshine!

My 7 year-old, Lily, is very excited to celebrate Spirit Week at school starting today. Her first grade class color is light blue and they are “soaring with spirit!” We began our Saturday by hitting up Party City and Hobby Lobby for lots of light blue supplies and goodies for all the different theme days they have this week. (God Bless the teachers on these crazy weeks!!!!) Today is accessory day and Lily chose this bandana and flowered lei! She also managed to find a giant sombrero for one last Cinco de Mayo party we had that evening!

After our errands we decided we needed some Mother’s Day pampering, and we visited our neighborhood nail salon for mani-pedi’s! The girls love this place because they get to sit in giant butterfly chairs. The funniest part of the day was when my 4 year old, Maeve, asked the technician for a Diet Coke. I think she was feeling very grown up! Fast forward 24 hours later, and she has picked the nail polish and rhinestones off every little finger!

Saturday evening, we attended a truly authentic Cinco de Mayo party that friends of ours were hosting. This party was AMAZING. My friend Keelin and her husband thought of everything. They had a craft station for the kids to make maracas, potato sack races, and of course, a giant piñata. There were piles of sombreros and accessories for a photo backdrop, Jell-O shots, and a margarita station. Her mother-in-law even taught all of us how to make the delicious tamales we had been eating all evening. We had the best time! Here are some fun pictures from their party.

Sunday morning came quickly as usual, but I was happy to sleep in! The girls surprised me with sweet Mother’s Day cards they made at school, tulips, and a new purse! (Guess whose husband visited Clear Lake Cousins for gift ideas?!) My husband also got me a gift certificate for the style profile company Stitch Fix! I am so excited to get started! I’ll share my experience with you all soon. After coffee and mimosa’s, we went to Le Peep for my favorite Eggs Benedict! Maeve made sure to get extra whipped cream on her cocoa and pancakes! We got to spend some time with my in-laws (and DQ ice cream cake!) later in the afternoon and enjoy the sunshine.

The best part of my day was spent sitting on my porch with a glass of wine, watching the girls play in the front yard. I felt very spoiled and loved on this Mother’s Day, that is for sure! Wishing you all a great week ahead!
